You have lost a lot of weight, you have toned your body, but one issue remains. You are not happy with your skin!
Skin is the largest organ on the human body. And having good looking skin is a sign of youthfulness and health. Unfortunately, getting that youthful glow can elude even the healthiest of us.
So without further ado, here are some ultra effective foods for making your skin look great:
1. Fruit with lycopene: The darker the better with this one. Try to eat fruit that is dark red in color. Tomatoes would be a great choice here. Now, what is so good about lycopene? Well, it does a great job at staving off sun damage which can make your skin very leathery.
2. Salmon: While any seafood has selenium, a compound that is a powerful antioxidant, salmon is loaded with Omega-3’s. And omega-3’s do an excellent job at decreasing inflammation which prevents redness in your skin.
3. Monounsaturated fat: Your best source here is going to be olive oil. Now olive oil has countless benefits that will really help your skin: it doesn’t degrade at high temperatures which makes it a great cooking oil, it’s loaded with antioxidants and it will keep your skin soft.
4. Almonds: Why are almonds good for the skin? Because they pack a lot of vitamin E which can help prevent the degradation of elastin. Elastin is a compound that prevents the formation of wrinkles. And wrinkles are a tell tale sign of aged skin.
5. Red berries: Strawberries would be a great choice here because they have high amounts of collagen which keeps muscle and skin nice and tight. And tightness doesn’t allow the formation of wrinkles.
There is a lot of information out there on nutrition and your main goal should be to not get overwhelmed by it. Instead, start making incremental changes today and never postpone taking action.
