Every nose is designed with a wall dividing the nasal cavity into halves called the nasal septum. It is composed of a central supporting skeleton that is covered on each side by mucous membrane. The shape of person’s nasal cavity could very well be the cause of chronic sinusitis. The ideal nasal septum is midline separating the left and right sides of the nose into equal sized passageways.

It has been estimated that 80% of all nasal septums are off-center, which is a condition that usually goes unnoticed. A deviated septum typically occurs when the septum shifted away from the midline. One of the most common symptoms a person has with a deviated septum is difficulty breathing through the nose. One side is usually worse than the others. Sometimes it actually occurs on the side opposite of the bend.

A deviated septum is caused by different things. It can be the result of an injury that caused the nasal septum to be knocked out of position. An athlete can get one after colliding with someone in a game of football injuring his nose. Maybe a boxer gets one from being punched in the rink. For infants this sort of injury also occurs during the birthing process. A deviated septum can also be caused by a condition preset at birth. It also occurs during fetal development.

A deviated septum can also lead to other complications like: frequent nosebleeds, sinus infections, heavy snoring, blockage of one or both nostrils and nasal congestion- sometimes one-sided. There are cases that occur in which a person with a mildly deviated septum only has symptoms when he or she has an upper respiratory tract infection. The respiratory infection can then trigger nasal inflammation and negatively affect the airflow.

In order to correct a deviated septum one can have surgery done. The preferred surgical treatment, generally not performed on minors, is called septoplasty. The reason it is not performed on minors is because the cartilaginous septum grows up until age 18. Septal deviations commonly occur because of nasal trauma. Another way to straighten out a crooked nose is by using the Nose Huggie. The small device does not involved surgery and comes at a very affordable cost. All one has to do is wear it for no more than 15 minutes a day. Check with your family physician on the best solution for your nose condition.

When we are formed in the womb we take on chromosomes from both parents. As humans we have 46 chromosomes. We get 23 from mom and 23 from dad. Those chromosomes consist of two long thin strands of DNA chain twisted like a double helix. The chromosomes are long strands of genes, and in each of the approximate 20,000 genes there is information that guides our growth development and health in the form of a chemical code. Different genes are active in different cell types, tissues and organs. All this to say we take on our parents’ genes. A lot of our mannerisms, body parts and facial features are passed on through DNA. Some people may say you have your dad’s nose or eyes like your mother. This can oftentimes be taken as a compliment. However, if your father’s nose is super large you may not always take it that way.

The nose usually decides which parent you took most of your genes from. It is a very significant part of your face and has a major impact on the overall appearance since it’s right in the middle of your face. The nose can really have an affect how your mouth and eyes appear to. Your nose might be small and cute as a button or it may be large like Toucan Sam’s! In either case you know it comes about by from the development of your parents’ DNA in your body.

There will be those who are not pleased with the shape or size of their nose. Sometimes you can tell that the nose was clearly inherited, but the person may feel insecure about their appearance. Honestly, nobody wants to feel like Little Red Riding Hood’s “grandmother” and hear people say “what a big nose you have”. You may be able to smell better but it may not be proportionate to the rest of the face. Maybe it is overtaking the face. It’s remarkable sometimes how much we look like our relatives and family members and take on certain features. It is also remarkable how large some people’s noses can be.

Before taking any drastic measures or making any impulsive decisions one should sit down and consider all their options. He or she should also think about whether the nose size is really an issue or something they can get over. If they are really set on making a change to it, it’s good to look at the most healthy or natural methods first. It could simply be a matter of putting on makeup a certain way around the nose.

If it is believed that it has become a big issue then one might consider having a nose procedure done or finding a safe device to help minimize the nose size. Rhinoplasty has become more common but there are high costs involved with it. If you don’t believe in nose surgery or would like to save your money, look into the Nose Huggie. It is a small device used to straighten or reduce the size of the nose size, and it is said to be very affordable. Those are only two methods to getting the nose smaller, but both come highly recommended if you would like timely results. This is if the person just cannot live with the current state of his nose anymore and is in need of a change. Otherwise he may try to accept how God created him and seek out the benefits in the DNA received.

The development of muscles of the body is important for every living thing. Every movement made involves the use of one or more of these important parts of the body. Having them in good condition is a must for over all health. One way to be sure this happens is with the Russian stim method.

The fact that an electrical current can activate muscles was discovered many years ago and it has been studied ever since. Different amounts of this current affects the targeted areas as well as affecting cells, nerves and blood vessels.

This type of increasing activity of body mass has been adapted by the medical community. It is used in rehabilitation and other areas where reviving muscle activity is necessary. This method is now being actively tested on people with paralysis to attempt to revive nerves in the affected areas. It has also been used in the training of athletes who are entering other types of competition.

This program will not be effective for those wishing to lose weight. It is agreed, by the medical profession, that the only way this can come about is by exercise and controlled eating. It will, however increase body mass. It is also used to help with injuries to bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons. It is not effective in pain control, but the electronic muscle stimulator is still a successfully proven product nonetheless.

A program using this process does not aid in weight reduction or calorie burning. That can only be done by actual exercise and/or correct diet. It is said to be effective in injuries to bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. It is not used for pain control but simply to prevent muscle atrophy and keep the limbs active. It’s main purpose is to improve muscle tone by stimulating particular areas.

Using this program to enlarge the muscles has been adapted by many different types of people. Some are athletes preparing for an event. Others might want to compete in body building competitions, or simply improve the overall look of their body by retrieving muscle tone.

Both prescription and over the counter models use the same techniques with the prescription model having stronger electrodes. The one for the general public consists of these connected to a belt, which works is a specified area or as individual units which can be placed in various locations. The electrical force has the power of about a 9 volt battery.

This method, called the Russian stim, does not completely replace exercise, but is used in conjunction with it, if one sincerely wishes to improve muscle mass. The unit contracts and relaxes the area where the electrodes are attached, thus creating the same changes as would occur in voluntary contraction of the muscles.

The electronic muscle stimulator is extremely useful for medical rehabilitation and physical therapy. One specialized ESM product that stands out is the Russian Stim. Known for its pain relief and minimum disturbance, the Russian Stim is a popular technique among many Asian countries.

An Electronic Muscle Stimulator or EMS has been used in hospitals, clinics and physical rehabilitation centers for more than 40 years. They are typically used as a form of therapy with the help of a medical professional. It is used regularly by physical therapist in helping to keep a muscle active until the patient is able to move it themselves. There are some also available for use at home.

Before purchasing one for home be sure it has a safety approval from your country’s regulatory body. Those that are unregulated are not necessarily unsafe but some have been reported to have given people shocks and bruises. Whether this is due to the unit or lack of following directions is not clear. Those with a safety recommendation will ensure you are completely safe when using the unit.

Medically these machines are used for a variety of reasons and conditions. Any condition or injury that interferes with the function of muscles can benefit from an EMS. Patients that have pain from muscle spasms can find relief since it will relax the area.

Muscles spasms are very painful but the electronic muscle stimulator will relax them and leave the patient pain free. Greater range of motion is obtained with its used. The units are usually used on conditions or injuries that limit muscle function in general.

There are models strictly for use by a medical professional. To get the patient used to the feeling it is started at a low frequency. Once the patient has become used to the machine and how the muscle should feel while using it, a portable device may be given. This device is to be used at home and the patient is educated on how to use it.

These machines come in various sizes, of course the ones for home use are smaller. They may have a digital display with instructions and show what the frequency is that is being set with the ability to lock it in to provide consistency. Some are even a hand held size. The electrodes are attached to leads which are attached to the EMS. These electrodes will be applied to the skin at the site of the necessary muscle. Once the unit is on an electrical impulse goes directly to that area and contracts and relaxes the muscle rhythmically. It mimics the way a muscle naturally moves and stimulates the nerves to move them.

The stimulator is used for non medical purposes as well. Athletes use it along with regular exercise to increase muscle strength, endurance and response speed. It can be used for those times when you are unable to workout. It is also used on the abdominal muscles to further define the area and stimulate muscles that are hard to work with conventional exercise.

The electronic muscle stimulator can also be used to prevent injury. It will increase blood flow and oxygen while toning and improving endurance to muscles. Whether used to relieve pain or prevent loss of muscle strength it has been proven to be effective medically and personally.

The electronic muscle stimulator is extremely useful for medical rehabilitation and physical therapy. One specialized ESM product that stands out is the Russian Stim. Known for its pain relief and minimum disturbance, the Russian Stim is a popular technique among many Asian countries.

Whenever I get back home from college during those long summer months, I lose access to their gym. For me, exercising is very important, and not being able to do my cardio or workout easily really distracts me from my healthy life style. So recently, I gave some thought to having a gym at home; the same convenience as having a gym at school, but even better. I did my research and found it isn’t as simple as buying some equipment and placing it all at home.

There are many different factors to consider before you even think about buying a particular piece of equipment. You really need to consider all the different factors including what type of exercises you want to do, hoe much room do you have…imagine buying over $10,000 worth of equipment (an impossible dream for a student like me), only to find out you can’t even fit it into the room. So the very first thing you should look at is how much room you have in your house.

Once you’ve got that, you need to figure out how much money you’re willing to sink into it. I think it’s always to buy equipment after you get into the habit of working out; other wise you risk just wasting your money while the machine sits in the room. For that, best stick with your local gym as you’d probably save money (at least until you’re used to working out). Once you do have the habit, buying equipment should be less of a guilt. Figure out how much you’re willing to spend, but remember to not buy equipment that are subpar; it would be better to buy better quality equipment overall. Figure out how much money you can and wiling to spend and stick with the budget.

It’s not just the actual exercise equipment that you have to check out. Remember all the other things that needs go into an exercise room: mirrors, rubber paddings, ground mats. All of these factors have to be calculated also in your budget. No matter what the costs may be, purchasing fitness equipment is a worthwhile investment for your medical health in the long run.

After you’ve done your research and budgeting, it’s finally time to go out and buy it. Generally there are two routes you can take: used equipment or new equipment. Each has its disadvantages and advantages: used equipment is cheaper, and you have the potential to buy quality, well taken care of equipment for a very good price. On the other hand, you might not have warranty/support from the company, plus the equipment might only look like it’s in a good shape.

New equipment has the advantage of being unused, guaranteed to be clean (although if you worked out at a gym, this shouldn’t really be an issue), and proper support from the manufacturers. Only problem is the price. If you do choose used, always make sure to inspect the equipment properly before making a decision to buy.

Buying equipment for your gym can be an exciting and worthwhile endeavour. make sure you do everything you can so it’d be as smooth as possible.

In today’s busy world, many of us have a tough time trying to make time for exercise. We all know the advantages of exercise, and know that it is probably one of the best things we can do for our health. In reality, even if we keep saying ‘I don’t have time for exercise’, it’s really a matter of prioritizing your time. If you truly do care about your health, then you will make time for exercise.

To help you make best use of your time for exercise, below is a list of easy to do, equipment-free (or if it does use equipment, very easy to obtain or create your own) exercises. They’ve all been proven to work and are very effective – so long you do them regularly. Regularly means at least two to three times a week, for sessions of half an hour to an hour. Not that long right?

Walking This is probably one of the easiest exercises a person can do. We use our cars too often now and with many jobs being in the office, lose the for some physical activity. But it’s quite simple to get back to it; instead of parking so close to the office, park a little further away. Instead of driving, take the bus. Or even, take some time out of your break and take a brisk walk outside.

Stairs Take the stairs instead of taking the elevator! So long you don’t live on the 100th floor or something crazy like that, you can get some real good exercise out of this.

Swimming Perhaps one of the best exercises one person can do. It works your whole body. Know how Olympic swimmers look like? Well, they didn’t look the way they do by doing nothing. Whether you are an athlete or not, it is always important to make health plans ahead of time, so you can measure the length of your exercise routines.

Biking Another fun exercise that anyone can do. Pick a nice park somewhere and bike in it. Enjoy a little bit of nature zooming by while exercising. Can be both relaxing and exhilarating.

Push ups This is a tried and true technique to build up your arm and shoulder muscles. So long you work yourself a sweat doing these exercises, there’s no reason for it to not show any results. There are also so many variations of this exercise that there will almost always be a tougher version of the push up. Don’t under estimate this exercise.

Pull-ups One of my all time favourites, it works almost your complete upper body. All you really need is a bar that you can pull your body up from (hence pull-up). You can easily put one up yourself. The only disadvantage this exercise it is hard; many people can’t even do more than 1 pull-up. But don’t despair! Even if you can only do one per set in the beginning, as long as you keep up at it, I can almost guarantee that you’ll start improving and see results.

Ultimately for any of these exercises to have any results, you have to keep doing them routinely. It must become a habit to do it, else you won’t see results.

You can find many health education resources online, but none more dedicated and informative than our platform. Read about fitness advice, wellness recommendations, and health plans from professionals and enthusiasts alike!

Massage therapy techniques come in many different forms and hundreds of different packages. Some have a medical purpose, some have a stress relief purpose, and some have a more spiritual purpose. If you are looking to get a massage, what kind should you get? What is right for you, and how will you know if you do not understand some of the biggest massage principles?

Acupressure is a great catch-all for medical massages. If you have some form of health issue and it is giving you a lot of pain or discomfort, this could be the one for you. It is a Chinese practice directly related to acupuncture. Only here, the pressure points are rubbed instead of stuck with a needle. These points are believed to be the center of all the body. By manipulating them, you can help control your health.

Barefoot massages are a unique luxury and can be very helpful to people who have very physical jobs. The more physical the job, the deeper the tension goes into your muscles. One of the best ways to get the tension out is to lay down while a therapist stands on your back and walks along your muscles. It is usually just a back massaging technique, since few muscles are strong enough to need (or to bear) the weight of a person. It can be dangerous if not done right, but when it is done well, the feet can work wonders for soreness.

Deep tissue massages are one step more intense than the barefoot massage. This massage therapy is for people who have been injured or who have very high levels of tension. The goal is to work on the muscles deep down, under the first layer of muscle. These are very rarely worked upon, which means that they could be sore after. If you are a more delicate person, you may find this to be painful.

Postural integration involves movement from both parties and a lot of therapeutic emotional work. It is primarily a deep tissue massage, but the patient moves arms and legs in long gestures and does several different exercises for emotional health. These exercises depend on the therapist.

Reflexology massages are strictly for hands and feet. They get little enough good treatment when one considers how often they are really used. They are carefully rubbed down and the few muscles in these appendages are fully loosened. There is also the spiritual belief that your internal organs are directly connected to your hands and feet, making a massage on the outside also be a massage on the inside.

The stone massage is the least intense of all of these. It has more for your own personal relaxation and some mild stress relief. It can feel very good, especially if the weather is cold out. Carefully selected stones are heated up in water to a certain temperature. They are set on your body at crucial muscle points so you muscles ease.

Swedish massages are the last of the major ones. While most of the others involve just rubbing the muscles, the Swedes believe that muscles need more kinds of action. They vibrate and jab the muscles, create friction for them, and then ease it by sweeping the hands over them. It will be a standard massage in a very different way. Most of these massages can be combined with one another to form their own special type. You should learn what your body wants from you.

Whether you need a body slide massage Toronto for medical, stress relief, or spiritual purposes, our effective massage services can help rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. This very friendly staff team will give a relaxing body massage Toronto with the utmost commitment and dedication.
